Today I became a proud owner of two kittens. I named them Yin and Yang because of their colors and how their tendancy to lay over each other resembles the Yin & Yang symbol. The following is from Wikipedia's Yin & Yang page:

Yin, the darker element, is passive, dark, feminine, downward-seeking, and corresponds to the night; yang, the brighter element, is active, light, masculine, upward-seeking and corresponds to the day.

So obviously I named the black female Yin and the white male cat Yang because of that definition fit so well. Especially since Yang is already "upwards seeking" because he tries to get up and explore a lot more than Yin does. It was a perfect match for their names I think.

Ah! They are so cute! One reason not to come to all your parties! J/K :-) Although I am unfortunately allergic to cats, I just deal with it like with dogs. I'm thinking of taking my parent's cute little rat terrier because I am definately a pet lover.

Yeah well good thing I got hardwood floors, dander and cat hair are easily handled in the downstairs area. I plan on always cleaning up the house good before those alergic to them come over.
