Over the weekend I updated my first native iPhone game, iBlackjack to Alpha 2. I have added more features, but still have a lot of work ahead of me. But so far I've gotten a great response.

Here's a bit of what was added/updated:

  • Slight improvements to the user interface

  • Added preliminary betting & bank system

  • Added showing of dealer card

  • Code optimizations/improvements

Here are some screenshots:

I have many plans up my sleeves still. Lots of cool features to add, too bad I can't stop time to allow me to make great headway on a regular basis.

First I want to say the app is great. First fun game on the iPhone. I do believe there is one problem, it seems that tens (or face cards) do not show up enough, especially after the intial deal. Considering there are four times as many of them in a deck. Known in in the game as the rule of ten. Still great app, though.

I think I know what the problem is, and it is how I manage the deck. It will be altered in the next version, I meant to for this last release but forgot, so thanks for reminding me.

Basically right now, each new deal is a freshly shuffled single deck. That'll change.

patrick,

first off great app game, i find i wind up playing it moreso than lights out and etc. I just have a couple of comments from gameplay.

The alert windows on win/lose/push come up to soon for my flavor. Ideally i like to see the dealer card flip or my breaking card flip before i am told i busted, won or push.. its really quick and you lose the suspense factor with the way it quickly pops up.

I am wondering too if you are gonna impliment insurance, doubledown and splitting?

the app is still aces. You definitely sparked interest in me to learn Objective C so i can possibly port some of my older casusal flash games to my phone.

Otherwise, i look forward to the next release
